Episode 24 – Peter Chapman

SnapSessions! presents Episode 24, featuring an interview with British journalist and writer, Peter Chapman as well as “A Tribute to British character comic, Felix Dexter, and an article “Armchair Environmentalist” on the Climatic observations of SnapSessions! own Doug Nunn.

Peter Chapman talks about his days as a junior goalkeeper with Leyton Orient, his work as a traveling carbon paper salesman in Central and Northern Europe as a youth, and his education in Economics and Journalism. He then gives us an accounting of life as a journalist in revolutionary Central America in the 1980s, as a sport reporter for ITV during the 1986 World Cup, and then for the Financial Times over many years. We end by talking about Chapman’s book writing career with insights into A Goalkeeper’s History of Britain as well as Out of Time and Bananas, Chapman’s exposé of the United Fruit Company.

In addition SnapSessions! Episode 24 presents a tribute to character comic par excellence, Felix Dexter and his 25 year career in British comedy. Highlights include various snippets of Dexter’s characters on The Real McCoy, The Fast Show,  and Bellamy’s People. Episode 24 also includes the article Armchair Environmentalist, where Doug Nunn muses on his work as a Climate Change presenter.
